Doğanbey (Domatia), located on the southern slopes of Mykale (Samsun) Mountain in the Büyük Menderes Delta, is a historical village in the Söke district of Aydın. Doğanbey's geography dates back to the Ionian period. The village is neighboring the ancient cities of Thebai, Priene, Miletus and Didyma. It is also located where the Menders River meets the Aegean Sea, next to the Dilek Peninsula National Park.

Originally a Rum (Anatolian Greek) village, founded in the 18th century, Doğanbey gained a new identity with the Turkish population. In the 1980s, due to the distance of the agricultural fields the people moved to the coast and the village was abandoned for a long time.

In the 1990s, academics, artists, architects and business people, who are passionate about nature and history, restored the old houses, stone-paved roads, streets, squares and fountains with their own resources. The village is characterized by its narrow streets and traditional stone houses.
